Yahoo acquires Zimbra!
Internet company Yahoo has announced that they are now acquiring e-mail solution provider Zimbra.
Yahoo is paying $350 million in an all-cash deal for Zimbra which has become massively popular in recent times.
This also happens to be their second major acquisition deal in the recent days. Yahoo recently announced their decision to acquire advertising company BlueLithium, for $300 million.
Zimbra acquisition would help Yahoo compete more efficiently against Microsoft’s corporate email solutions.
This company specializes in providing e-mail software and hosting services to companies and internet service providers.
They are service some huge clients including Comcast, H&R Block Inc. and Raytheon Corp. in addition to educational institutes like UCLA and Georgia Tech.
Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang said in a statement on this deal: “Zimbra’s tremendous talent and innovative technology will help to extend our core mail offerings, further strengthening our strong leadership position in this space.”
