Maruti Udyog Ltd is now Maruti Suzuki India Ltd
Maruti is the India’s leading automaker. The company has now confirmed that they have now changed their name from Maruti Udyog Ltd to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
The company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange that the registrar of companies has approved this name change.
The board of directors in the company had approved the name earlier this year.
Maruti terms continues to be the prominent term in the new name as it has a tremendous brand value in the Indian market.
The addition of Suzuki in the name would add an international aspect to the name as the company tries to venture outside India to export their cars.
The company added that they are also now working on developing capabilities to work as Suzuki’s Research and Development hub for Asia outside Japan.
