MySpace now offering targeted advertising program

World’s most popular social networking portal MySpace.com has announced the launch of their own targeted advertising platform.

Considering the huge network of user base they have, the company has access to large amount of personal details of their visitors which could help them sell more advertising.

MySpace said that advertisers can place ads based on responses to questions about users’ likes and dislikes, favorite movies and music.

They are even offering the power to extract data from blog posts from their members. This would enable them to offer even more targeted ads on the MySpace.com pages.

However, the company has stated that only that information is used for this purpose which the user has freely expressed on their pages.

The company added in a statement: “This is really just the beginning for us. No one else in the marketplace can offer this kind of concentrated reach.”
