Vogue set to launch in India

Vogue magazine is all set to see its launch in the Indian market. The first issue of the magazine in India would be released on September 22.

Vogue India said in a statement that the India issue would feature global fashion and beauty trends. They are also going to cater to local fashion industries and plan to celebrate the Indian woman and the richness of traditional Indian fashion.

They are however a very late entrant in the Indian market where we already have other international magazines available in the market including Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan and Elle.

Alex Kuruvilla, chief executive of Condé Nast India said on their entry in the Indian market: “We’ve been studying the Indian market for over a year. Our timing couldn’t be better.”

Condé Nast is also considering launching some other magazines in the Indian market including Vanity Fair, GQ, and Glamour.

Kuruvilla added: “We have done a year of research, talked to over a million consumers, and really done thorough research on the Indian market. The Indian economy is only set for further growth and the luxury advertiser is only just entering India, so our timing couldn’t be better.”
