Tata Motors considering relaunching Indica in Europe
S A Hasan, managing director, Tata Limited has said in a statement that they are considering plans to relaunch their Tata Indica model in the European market.
However, they would need a solid dealer network in the UK for this to happen. They had earlier launched the Indica in partnership with MG Rover in the UK but it failed due to high cost of the car.
The company currently sells their utility vehicles in the UK through its dealers. Indica was being sold in the UK market through Rover’s own dealer network.
Their strategy can get a major boost if the company manages to acquire Land Rover and Jaguar from Ford. They are one of the several bidders for these two premium brands from the US based automaker.
