MSNBC acquiring Newsvine Inc.
The latest acquisition in the Web 2.0 world comes from MSNBC Interactive News LLC. The news media company has announced their decision to take over Newsvine Inc.
The two companies did not reveal the financial aspects of this deal.
Newsvine started operating in 2006 and has six people working on the project. It claims to have around a million users on a monthly basis.
Charlie Tillinghast, president of MSNBC Interactive News added in a statement that the service would continue to work as an independent operation. They would be providing them with resources and traffic to enable further growth.
They are also studying integrating some of the features from Newsvine into their primary sites.
