NBC Universal to acquire Oxygen Media
NBC Universal has announced their decision to acquire Oxygen Media. Oxygen Media is a media company aimed at woman audience.
NBC would be paying $925 million including debt for this latest acquisition. Market analysts believe that they got a bargain deal in this transaction.
SNL Kagan media analyst Derek Baine spoke on this deal: “NBC paid $1.3 billion for Bravo. There was a lot of skepticism about that deal when NBC made it. But Bravo now generates over $150 million a year in cash flow.”
NBC said in a statement that they believe Oxygen Media is a perfect fit for their network. The company added: “We won’t reinvent it. They are a channel for women between 18 and 34 and we’ll go hard after that.”
