Comcast now offering TiVo- enabled DVRs
The largest cable operator in the US, Comcast has now announced that they are now offering TiVo- enabled DVRs in New England market.
The two companies said in a statement that these would be made available to the customers in the coming months.
TiVo and Comcast had signed a collaborative agreement in 2005 and it took them quite sometime to bring these products to the market.
Comcast with this has now become the first U.S. cable operator to offer a TiVo interface service.
They are soon going to face competition from Cox Communications which is also expected to bring TiVo enabled devices in the market.

About

You misunderstand the nature of the cable business in the US. Comcast and Cox Communications are peer companies, not competitors. Comcast’s and Cox’s competitors are the satellite companies such as Direc TV and Echostar, as well as the former Bell Operating companies including Verizon, AT&T and Qwest.
