Wikipedia headquarters moving to San Fransisco
Wikipedia has announced that they are now moving their headquarters from St. Petersburg, Florida, to San Francisco.
They would do the relocation sometime in January next year.
Florence Devouard, chair of the Wikimedia Foundation spoke on this decision: “San Francisco is the center of high-tech in the United States and will give the foundation access to a rich array of resources.”
Wikipedia is one of the largest online destination which is totally open sourced. It was founded in 2001 and has become a favorite for web users to get information on a particular topic.
The foundation has six full time employees and they plan to hire more after the move to San Francisco.
