Investor still believe Motorola should split up
Billionaire investor Carl Icahn has again said in a report that the US based mobile giant Motorola should consider splitting up.
He claims that the mobile phone division of the company itself is worth just around USD 10 billion.
He said in a statement: “We do talk with them periodically. Motorola has great value. If you really split Motorola up, which I still think should happen … you’re buying that handheld business for only $10 billion, which is next to nothing.”
Incidentally, he has been more or less quiet since he failed to win a seat on the company’s board.
Motorola continues to struggle as they face intense competition from Samsung and Nokia. Apple iPhone has become the latest product to cause headaches for them in the US market.
