LG Electronics gains from improved mobile phone sales

LG Electronics like Samsung has gained in their latest revenue reports due to improved mobile phone sales.

The company posted that their third-quarter net profit surged nearly 15-fold. LG also gained from impressive performance by its flat panel joint venture LG.Philips LCD Co.

LG said that their earnings touched 339.2 billion won in the recent quarter.

LG.Philips had recently released its own revenue report and it had recorded its best quarterly profit in more than three years.

The company further said in its statement that its sales of handsets rose to a quarterly record of 21.9 million units.
