Boeing names Pat Shanahan as the new head of 787 program
US based aircraft manufacturer Boeing has announced the appointment of Pat Shanahan as the new head of their 787 Dreamliner program.
This program has seen major problems and the company recently announced another six month delay.
Shanahan would be replacing Mike Bair at this position in the company. Bair now now been appointed vice president of business strategy and marketing for commercial airplanes.
Bank of America analyst Robert Stallard spoke on these new developments at Boeing: “It would appear as though Mr. Bair is paying for the six-seven month delay anticipated in the aircraft’s first delivery. While investors may be glad to see senior management taking decisive action on the 787 after the recent questions posed on credibility, a significant body of knowledge will depart with Mike Bair, and it will take time for Mr. Shanahan to get up to speed on the program.”
