1&1 to offer push mail in collaboration with Funambol

1&1 is one of the biggest web hosting service provider on the web and the company has now announced a deal with Silicon Valley start-up Funambol.

The two companies are now going to provide push email services to the customers hosted on 1&1.

As per market reports, the company hosts around 71 million mailboxes and with this technology the users would get their mails delivered to them.

This service is similar to how Research in Motion’s Blackberry technology works.

Funambol Chief Executive Fabrizio Capobianco talked about this deal: “You need to have what we have: the enormous community testing our software on every possible phone.” Their technology is based on the open SynclML standard.
