Jetlite wants to go to Gulf Countries
Jet Airways’ low cost air carrier Jetlite now plans to offer services to travel to Gulf countries.
The company has now requested the Indian government to give it the permissions to offer services to these lucrative routes.
The cities they are targeting are: Sharjah, Dubai, Muscat, Bahrain, Kuwait and Doha.
Jetlite is also planning to expand their fleet of aircrafts to service these routers in an efficient manner.
The company is already offering flights on 27 routes. Through these routes they are connecting 34 cities in the Indian market.
Jetlite CEO Garry Kingshott had this to say on the ground conditions: “We are currently utilizing our aircraft for just nine hours while four of our aircraft – one Boeing 737 & three CRJs – are grounded. So, we are planning to lease around 6-8 Boeing 737 aircraft in the medium term while 10 new Boeing aircraft, which were booked by Air Sahara, will be joining our fleet from March 2009 and will fill the gap.”
