Peter Dengate Thrush is the new chairman of ICANN
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has announced that they have now elected Peter Dengate Thrush as the new chairman of the body.
He replaces Vint Cerf at the top of the organization. Thrush is an existing board member and has been involved in ICANN since its inception.
With this, he has now become the third chairman of the organization. ICANN also has had three CEOs and many board chairmen.
ICANN added in a statement that they believe that Dengate Thrush is appropriate for the role.
