Sun Microsystems post profits

Server company Sun Microsystems has come out with their revenue reports and the company has finally managed to post profits after a long time.

Sun gained from stronger demand for their server products as they diversified into this segment of the market by offering solutions powered by rival chip makers.

Sun said that their net income in the most recent quarter was around $89 million, or 3 cents per share.

This is a major improvement over loss of $56 million, or 2 cents per share in the same period last year.

Sun Microsystems posted first-quarter revenue of $3.22 billion. Last year this figure was around $3.19 billion.
