Sanyo to bring commercial industrial equipment to India
Japan based electronics major Sanyo Electric has plans to expand their product offerings in the Indian market. The company plans to soon introduce commercial and industrial equipment. Toshimasa Iue, president of Sanyo said in a statement on their plans: “Our first penetration in India was with television in 1982. We see potential in the future for environmental appliances.”
Sanyo is planning to launch batteries, industrial air conditioners, biomedical equipment, mobile phones, and digital cameras in India. They already have two subsidiaries working in India.
Sanyo had last year formed a joint venture with Indian home appliance maker BPL last year. The two companies had previously sold television sets under a similar arrangement in the Indian market. They also have a wholly owned subsidiary, Sanyo India Pvt. Ltd.
Toshimasa Iue added: “We have big plans for India and after building a firm foundation using our initial investment, we hope to make it a pillar of our growth in the future.” they have had massive success in similar ventures in the European and Chinese market and now are aiming to achieve the same here in India.
