Bajaj acquires a small stake in KTM
Bajaj Auto has entered into another high profile deal by acquiring a 14.5% stake in KTM. KTM Power Sports is the Europe’s second-largest sport motorcycle maker.
They acquired this stake through their Dutch subsidiary. Market sources believe that they might expand their stake in the near future.
The Indian two wheeler giant is also expected to get a seat on the company’s board.
The two companies could now work on plans to develop street bikes for both Indian and overseas markets.
Bajaj could also bring some of the KTM products for sale in the Indian market. KTM chief executive Stefan Pierer added about their collaboration with Bajaj: “We are currently looking at how we can market and sell Bajaj products in European markets. Bajaj will also support us with supplier systems.”
