News Corp gains from The Simpsons movie performance
News Corp has come out with their latest revenue report and the company has posted a 23 percent rise in quarterly operating profit.
The company gained a lot from the good performance of their movie based on the hit television series The Simpsons.
News Corp however warned that they could face a “rough” economic climate next year.
They are going through an acquisition deal to acquire Wall Street Journal publisher Dow Jones & Co Inc. They are also the owners of the world’s most popular online social networking service MySpace.com.
Company boss Rupert Murdoch said in a statement: “Right now, all the economic indicators are that next year … could be rough. So we’re not going to give guidance until we’re a little bit closer to it.”
