Ford expected to keep Volvo
US based automaker Ford is now unlikely to sell its Volvo division as they are going to position it as a global premium vehicle producer.
Alan Mulally, Ford’s president and chief executive said in a statement confirming this decision: “Volvo is not for sale.”
Incidentally, Ford is already working hard on their plans to sell off Jaguar and Land Rover.
As for Volvo, Ford now wants it to operate on a more stand-alone basis.
Market analysts are however surprised at this announcement as improved performance at Jaguar and Land Rover are helping Ford by offsetting the losses at Volvo.
