Emirates Airline prefers Airbus over Boeing for latest order
Dubai-based Emirates Airline has preferred Airbus over Boeing to place their latest order. They have in fact given Airbus their largest ever single-aircraft order.
They decided to pick the Airbus A350 airliner over Boeing’s rival 787. The order is worth close to around $35 billion at market price.
The order consists of 70 mid-sized A350 XWB aircraft and 11 A380 super jumbos. It was placed on the first day of Dubai’s annual air show.
Boeing however did not lose it all. They managed to get an order for 12 of its 777-300s from Emirates.
They also secured a deal with Qatar Airways for 30 787 Dreamliners and five 777 cargo aircraft.
