Prince targeting Pirate Bay and other online services for copyright violation
Musician Prince has been taking some steps to challenge the web based services which he believes indulge in copyright violation of his works.
The latest reports in states that he does not intend to target his fans. His representative AEG said in a statement: “The action taken earlier this week was not to shut down fan sites, or control comment in any way. The issue was simply to do with in regards to copyright and trademark of images and only images and no lawsuits have been filed.”
AEG added that Prince is considering putting some material for free online so as to bypass third party services which infringes on his copyrights.
AEG further stated that web services like Pirate Bay are exploiting copyrighted material for their commercial gain.
