Microsoft in talks to acquire Musiwave

US based software giant Microsoft has stated that they are currently in talks with the mobile music service company Musiwave.

Openwave Systems owns this company and they are currently talking with Microsoft exclusively.

The company added in a statement that if a deal is made, it would enable them to bring Musiwave’s relationships with music labels, device makers and mobile operators together with Microsoft’s Connected Entertainment technologies.

This would include their products and services like Windows Mobile, Zune and MSN.

Microsoft further added that if the two companies agree on an acquisition deal, Musiwave would continue to operate from its current headquarter in Paris.
