Infiniti brand coming to India
Nissan CEO and MD Carlos Ghosn is now planning to bring the Infiniti automobile brand in the Indian market.
Renault and Nissan are already selling cars in India and have plans to launch several new models in the coming years.
Infiniti is owned by Renault and they are popular for their luxury cars in the US and Canadian market.
Ghosn was quoted as saying to the media: “Nissan’s focus on India is based on the cars from Nissan’s stable. However, we are witnessing a surge in demand for luxury cars in India. We are looking to launch the Infiniti brand in the country.”
Some other international brands to arrive in the Indian market in the coming years include Lotus, Chrysler, Lexus, Alfa Romeo and Maserati. All of these are premium segment car makers and are unlikely to change the overall scenario of the Indian automotive sector.
