Yahoo expands mobile operations in Asia
US based Internet company Yahoo has announced new deals in Asia to expand the availability of their mobile services.
The company also announced the launch of their mobile service called Yahoo Go in traditional Chinese in Taiwan.
A company representative added: “Those 16 deals will give us roughly 40 percent coverage of all subscribers in those countries.”
He further said: “We have a clear goal to lead the market. The goal is to exceed 50 percent.”
These deals have been signed with Aircel Ltd, BPL Mobile and BSNL in India, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd and PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk in Malaysia, Hutch 3 and PT Indosat Tbk in Indonesia, PCCW Mobile HK Ltd of Hong Kong and Starhub Ltd of Singapore.
