Sirius Satellite Radio shareholders approve deal with XM Satellite Radio Holdings
Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. has announced that their shareholders have now given their approval for their acquisition of rival company XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc.
They are now looking for approval from the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission.
XM Satellite Radio Holdings shareholders are also scheduled to meet and decide on this acquisition deal.
Sirius Satellite Radio added in a statement that as many as 96 percent of the shareholder votes were in favor of this deal.
The two companies have said that the combined entity would offer listeners more pricing options and greater choice and flexibility with packages.
