AT&T acquiring online advertising company Ingenio
US based telecom company AT&T has said that they are now going to acquire online advertising company Ingenio.
The financial details of this deal have not been revealed by the two companies. This acquisition could put AT&T in direct competition to market leaders including Google.
Ingenio specializes in measuring the effectiveness of advertisements by tracking phone calls made to businesses based on phone numbers used in ads.
AT&T said that they would be integrating their technology on their own yellowpages.com Web site.
Ingenio already provides technology to other online companies including AOL and MSN.
