Maruti to make small cars for Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki is the largest auto maker in the Indian market. The company is now going to focus more on exporting their cars to international markets as well.
The company has said in a statement that from now on they would be manufacturing all cars in 800 to 1000 cc range in Suzuki’s global portfolio.
They would be enhancing their manufacturing capacities at their plant in Manesar.
The capacities are expected to touch 300,000 units by 2010. This unit would also be supplying cars to Nissan.
Maruti added that they had plans to start focusing on exports earlier but they wanted to consolidate their position in the domestic market first.
