Air France considering acquiring 100 long-range aircrafts
Air France has said in a statement that they have asked for quotations from both Airbus and Boeing.
The company plans to purchase about 100 long-range aircraft. This order could be worth close to around $20 billion.
They are considering placing orders for plane types including Airbus A350 XWB and Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
These planes would however be required to be powered by General Electric Co. engines. These engines are currently not available on Airbus’ plane. Rolls-Royce is currently the only engine maker on the Airbus plane
In other news, KLM has just placed an order for three 737-700 short-haul planes and two 777-300ERs from Boeing.
