Air India to start working on cost cutting to become more efficient
Air India officials have stated that they are currently working on plans to cut costs in the operations of the airline company.
They are aiming to reduce its costs by 3-4 per cent and enhance its operational efficiencies.
A company representative said in a statement on these new developments: “We are stringing together a series of cost-cutting measures which we feel will enhance our revenue by 3-4 per cent and thereby contribute to our bottom-line.”
He added: “For example, we have obtained a USD 5 million reduction in our insurance contract. We have also secured a healthy discount on fuel purchases for the first six months.”
They are currently undergoing a merger with the other government owned airline company Indian Airlines.
