Korean Air to launch a budget airline brand
South Korean airline company Korean Air has announced their plans to create a budget carrier next year.
They would be investing around 20 billion won on this project.
This announcement comes after rival airline company Tiger Airways announced their plans to start a new Korean budget airline.
Korean Air said in its statement: “Korean Air and Air Korea, a separately operated subsidiary will complement each other for a win-win relationship. Korean Air will concentrate on upper class business travel demands and Air Korea shall focus on travelers seeking shorter distance leisure travel routes.”
This new airline company would start operating in May 2008.
