Suzuki India set to launch new bikes in 125-175cc segment
Japanese auto company Suzuki’s Indian unit is all set to launch some new products in the Indian market.
The company has revealed that they would be launching premium-powered bikes between 125-175cc in the market.
They would showcase these new bikes at the upcoming Auto Expo trade show in January next year.
A company representative said on these plans: “India is a major market for our parent company. We had introduced bikes in the mass market category (100-125cc) under the brand name Heat and Zeus. We are now ready to introduce premium-powered bikes in the country.”
They are also working on plans to expand production of scooters in the market. Suzuki Motorcycle India vice-president (sales and marketing) Atul Gupta had this to say on the current market scenario: “Sales of motorcycles in the rural market have suffered in the last few months largely due to higher rate of interest on auto loans. The urban and semi-urban sales have not witnessed a major drop. SPML operates in these markets only. Therefore, we do not see any major drop in our sales.”
