SK Telecom acquires a stake in hanarotelecom
South Korean mobile operator SK Telecom has announced that they are now investing in the broadband service provider hanarotelecom.
This deal is worth around $1.18 billion. It is incidentally a 50 percent premium on pre-acquisition talks.
SK Telecom has now become the largest shareholder in this company with a 43.6 percent stake.
Market analysts have said that this is a good investment considering hanarotelecom has a sizeable market share in South Korea.
