Suzuki and Hyundai to increase exports from India
Suzuki and Hyundai are two of the biggest automobile makers in the Indian market. Now, the two companies are planning to increase their exports of cars from their Indian base to other countries around the world. The media group Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported that the two companies are gearing up their exports of cars and key automotive components from plants in India.
However, they have not cited any sources for their information and the two companies have also not issued any statements. The media group also claimed that Suzuki would start exporting diesel engines from their upcoming unit in India to their main European car assembly plant in Hungary.
Suzuki’s diesel plant based in India is expected to start the production of diesel engines by June this year and would also help them compete better in the Indian market against the likes of Tata Motors and Hyundai. The plan is to use them in the Suzuki Swift model for the Indian and other markets around the world.
Hyundai itself is working on expanding their manufacturing capacities to increase the export of their cars from their Indian unit.
