JetBlue to test limited internet connectivity on flights
JetBlue Airways has said that they are now planning to run a test by offering limited e-mail and instant messaging services for free on one of its planes next week.
They are not going to allow web surfing or email attachments onboard due to limited bandwidth availability.
Email and instant messaging would be allowed through Yahoo services.
Passengers on board would also be able to use two RIM Blackberry models which have Wi-Fi capabilities.
To provide this service they would be using a wireless spectrum their subsidiary LiveTV bought from the Federal Communications Commission last year for $7 million.
