IBM files a complaint against Asustek on patent infringement
IBM has now asked the US government to ban imports of some Asustek computers. They have filed this complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission.
IBM is claiming that these products infringe on their patented technologies.
The complaint has been filed against Asustek and its North American subsidiary, ASUS Computer International.
IBM spokesman Ari Fishkind said in a statement on this complaint: “They use the patented technology for computers they make for others as well as their own brand computers.”
Asustek has been pretty aggressive with their new product launches as they aim to become the world’s fifth-largest notebook computer vendor by 2010.
