Gordon Brothers Group acquires CompUSA
CompUSA has been facing intense competition from rival companies like Best Buy and Wal-Mart Stores.
The retailing chain has now been acquired by Gordon Brothers Group who are now going to close down 103 of these stores.
Bill Weinstein, a principal at Gordon Brothers spoke on these new developments: “An orderly and expedited wind-down and asset sale process is the best option for CompUSA and its creditors at this juncture.”
They are also planning to sell off CompUSA’s TechPro technical services division and CompUSA.com.
CompUSA was owned by the Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim who apparently failed to turn around the business at this retailing company.
