Wal-Mart to continue expansion in China

Retailing giant Wal-Mart has announced that they are going to continue expanding in the Chinese market.

The company aims to keep expanding in China at more than 30 percent annually.

They have just won the government’s approval to open its 100th store in the Chinese market.

They are already operating around 94 stores and several others are due to open in the coming months.

Wal-Mart has already invested around 1.7 billion Yuan in this market since they entered in 1996. China is also a big supplier to the company accounting to around $18 billion of goods a year.

This is in contrast to their entry into the Indian market where the government has been in opposition and they are collaborating with Bharti to open retail stores.
