Air India gets to join the Star Alliance
Star Alliance has now given permission to Indian airline company Air India to join their exclusive group.
Air India would now get to join this group of companies which includes 19 airlines.
This would help them compete more effectively against the rival airline operators in the domestic market.
By becoming a member of the Star Alliance, Air India would get a chance to widen their reach and boost revenues. Their members would be able to transfer their air miles to the other partners.
Lufthansa and United Airlines are two other major members of the Star Alliance.
