Qualcomm acquires privately held SoftMax

Mobile chip maker Qualcomm has announced their latest acquisition. The company is now taking over the operations of privately held SoftMax.

SoftMax specializes in providing noise reduction technology for mobile devices.

Qualcomm added in its statement that they are planning to integrate their technologies into their own chips for mobile phones.

Their technology can also be used to improve headsets with short-range Bluetooth wireless links.

The two companies have not disclosed the financial aspects of their deal.
