Ed Coleman leaves Gateway

Gateway recently announced that they were being acquired by the Taiwanese PC maker Acer.

Now, the CEO of the company Ed Coleman has announced his resignation. He had joined the company in 2006 and was one of the primary forces behind the acquisition deal with Acer.

Rudi Schmidleither, President of Acer’s Pan America operations would now take over his position in the company.

He would also be handling the post-merger integration of the Gateway unit with Acer.

Acer said in a statement on this development: “Acer would like to thank Ed Coleman for his leadership and professional contribution during this period and his continued support during the leadership transition between now and the end of January 2008.”
