Kingfisher Airlines and Deccan Aviation to merge
Kingfisher Airlines and Deccan Aviation have announced that they are now going to merge to form a single identity.
The two companies have received the nod from the consulting firm Accenture for this merger.
This new entity would begin operations next year. The merger would see Kingfisher increasing its stake in the Deccan Aviation to 46%.
The merged entity would have the government’s approval to start international operations which is very important for growth plans for Kingfisher Airlines.
Vijay Mallya will serve as chairman of the new entity. Capt Gopinath would be the vice chairman of the company.
