News Corporation has big plans for MySpace.com
Rupert Murdoch owned News Corp recently made big news in the online world when they acquired the online social networking website MySpace.com. The website is already very popular in the American countries and is gaining new users at an impressive rate. However, market experts believe that the interface and the usability of the website leave a lot to desire for.
The company has now huge plans for this online networking portal as they are planning to implement Web 2.0 features on MySpace.com to make it more usable and attractive to even more number of online web users.
Ross Levinsohn, president of News Corp.’s Fox Interactive Media unit said in a statement on the company’s plans for this service: “We’re looking for technologies or feature sets that give users tools to participate in the media rather than just sit back.”
He also mentioned smaller startups like YouTube during his presentation to the annual Bank of America Media, Telecommunications, and Entertainment Conference. However, no plans for a possible merger were revealed.
