LG aiming to launch 20 new models next year
LG Electronics India has said that they are going to expand their presence in the Indian mobile phone market.
They are aiming to launch around 20 new models in India in 2008. Indian market is largely dominated by Nokia and Motorola.
LG is already a dominating player in the CDMA mobile phone segment. Now, they want to focus on the GSM mobile phone category.
LG India Director, Sales and Marketing V Ramachandran said in a statement: “We are targeting 8-10 per cent market share in couple of years…we expect to double our handset revenues numbers.”
They are also going to launch some premium models which have high profit margins.
