Motorola continues its struggle in the mobile market
Motorola is the dominating mobile phone manufacturer in the US market. However, they have been struggling in the recent times.
The company has now forecasted an unexpected loss after profit fell 84 percent last quarter.
They are failing to compete against the product offerings from Samsung and other mobile phone makers.
Even the launch of Apple iPhone has affected them. Apple has sold more than 4 million iPhones in the market since its launch last year.
A company representative said that their mobile phone sales are likely to drop significantly in the coming months. Their recently launched Razr2 product range has failed to generate much excitement in the market.
Piper Jaffray & Co.’s Michael Walkley spoke about Motorola: “Their phones are just not selling through; they’re struggling with their lineup. The overall health of the market is fine; these problems are Motorola-specific.”
