Intel launches Community PC for the rural India

World’s largest maker of microprocessors for the personal computing platform, Intel has finally launched their community PC platform. Intel claims that this platform can operate in a community setting, adjusting to varying environmental conditions in the country.

The company also launched its “Jagruti” (awakening) initiative, which would provide rural communities in the country with more economic and social opportunities by collaborating with leaders in business, government, education, online services and Internet service providers.

They would also be supporting the spread of rural internet kiosks based on this new platform developed by them in collaboration with their partners around India. The aim is to increase the penetration of personal computers across India.

Intel also added that this community PC platform was developed to be a fully functional, expandable, and shared-access computing solution and be a reliable system that supports remote diagnostics and control features under low power requirements.

It comes with a ruggedized chassis designed to withstand dusty conditions, varying temperatures and high humidity, with a removable dust filter and integrated air fan to regulate the temperature of the motherboard.
