Lenovo to launch x86 servers based on IBM’s System x technology
Lenovo has announced that they are now going to launch server products. The company is licensing x86 server technology from IBM.
This would help the company expand their product range for small and medium-sized businesses.
The china based personal computer maker would now manufacture one- and two-way x86 servers based on IBM’s System x technology.
These would be sold under their own brand name. The company already sells ThinkPad laptops and Think workstations in addition to IdeaPad notebooks for the consumer market.
IBM added in a statement that they would continue to distribute System x servers under its own brand name.
