Greece invite Microsoft to start IT development centers in the country
Greece has now signed up an agreement with the US based software giant Microsoft as they aim to become a player in the IT development market.
They have invited the company to establish IT development centers in the country to boost their competitiveness in this market.
The agreement was signed on between Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Greece’s finance minister.
Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis spoke about this deal: “From being a laggard, Greece in a short amount of time is dynamically becoming a leader in the use of new technologies. Investment in advanced technology … is a prerequisite for a break with the past, which is something the country needs, and for it to be a knowledge leader.”
Bill Gates added: “I am pleased to see the commitment with our partners in Greece. It is this type of innovation, partnerships with universities and close relationships with the government that can help drive things.”
