Isuzu Motors to exit US automobile market
Isuzu Motors has revealed that they are going to exit the US automobile market. They are going to discontinue selling their products on Jan. 31, 2009.
This decision was taken after General Motors announced that they are ending the production of the Ascender sport utility vehicle along with i-290 and i-370 pickup trucks.
Terry Maloney, president of Isuzu’s North American operations spoke about this decision: “It has always been our intention to remain in the U.S. market. However, we were unable to secure any commercially viable replacements for these vehicles.”
The company however promises that they would honor all product warranties and roadside assistance programs. They are also going to keep the call centers working.
Their current dealers would have the option to continue working as service dealerships.
