Hyundai India opens their second plant
Hyundai Motor has announced that their second plant in the Indian market is now functional.
The company needs to boost their manufacturing capacity to support the growing sales in the domestic and export market.
This new plant is located at Sriperumbudur and would now boost capacity to 600,000 units for the second largest automaker in India.
The company said that this new plant would focus on manufacturing i10 for local and export markets. Hyundai i10 was recently launched in India and the company would export it to international market from India.
Company Chairman and Chief Executive Chung Mong-Koo said in a statement: “Hyundai Motor India will play its role of a global manufacturing hub for all of Hyundai’s small car models.”
